Conference Overview:
Our fourth annual community conference will focus on effectively managing the psycho-social aspects of living with food allergies and will provide attendees with useful tools and resources, as well as updates on the latest food allergy research. Our distinguished speakers bring a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding anaphylaxis and will be available to answer questions… after each presentation.

• Dr. Charles Frankish – Anaphylaxis Management: Myths & Misconceptions – What do you know about food allergies?
• Dr. Peter Vadas – Update on Food Allergy Research
• Dr. Michael Pistiner – Teens and Risk Taking Behaviour: Empowering and educating our youth
• Dr. Samuel Godefroy – Health Canada Update on Food Allergen Labelling Regulations

Choose from three breakout sessions:
• Dr. David Hummel – Newly Diagnosed session for parents
• Annette Brennan – School Management Strategies
• Dr. Tracey Pitt – Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management

An exhibit area will also be open during the conference showcasing various products and services from both local and national vendors.

Registration opens at 8:00 am. Participants will receive a copy of Anaphylaxis in Schools & Other Settings (national anaphylaxis guidelines), sponsor samples, literature, lunch and refreshments.

Please note that this conference is for an adult audience and is not appropriate for children.

Youth Conference

Anaphylaxis Canada’s Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) will be holding a half day afternoon session for teens with food allergies, aged 13 to 21 years. This session will be led by Kyle Dine, Youth Program Coordinator, and will focus on the issues faced by teens and the risk management strategies available to them.

Parental attendance & permission is required for all youth between 13 and 17 years old. We will email the permission form to parents upon registration.
Youth between 18 and 21 years old registering for the youth session are welcome to attend the morning session as well. Parental attendance is not required for this age group.

FEES Early Bird Registration – $75 per person (register by March 7, 2011)
Registration – $85 per person
Youth Session – $30 (ages 13 to 21)

PARKING Public parking is available at a discounted rate of $4.00 per vehicle (cash only). Mention to the parking attendant that you are attending the Anaphylaxis Canada Conference to receive your discount. Parking is free before 9:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m.
