  1. Sun Cups are another great candy that is nut free, gluten free, and organic. It is a great alternative to a peanut butter cup, but instead of peanut butter it is made with sun butter. It comes for a sunflower.

You can find them at most Whole Foods.

  2. Thanks Alex! We LOVE sun cups! We get them at peanutfreeplanet.com but I will definitely check out Whole Foods now.

  3. If you are allergic to tree nuts you have a very good chance to become allergic to sunflower products. We learned the hard way with my son who almost died because of Sunbutter. Im sure it is a good product but because of his tree nut allergy he was more prone to a problem. Wish we knew before, Just be careful!!

  4. Laura – thanks for the heads up on Sunflower products. Sorry to hear about your son’s reaction.

  5. We also have to avoid artificial food dyes in addition to wheat, dairy, eggs and nuts. Fun, huh?

  6. Heather – Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I feel your pain. The upside I’ve learned about food allergies is that we personally lead a much healthier lifestyle. I’ve learned to look for the silver linings in our food allergy journey. :)
