Sun Cups are another great candy that is nut free, gluten free, and organic. It is a great alternative to a peanut butter cup, but instead of peanut butter it is made with sun butter. It comes for a sunflower.
You can find them at most Whole Foods.

Thanks Alex! We LOVE sun cups! We get them at peanutfreeplanet.com but I will definitely check out Whole Foods now.

If you are allergic to tree nuts you have a very good chance to become allergic to sunflower products. We learned the hard way with my son who almost died because of Sunbutter. Im sure it is a good product but because of his tree nut allergy he was more prone to a problem. Wish we knew before, Just be careful!!

We also have to avoid artificial food dyes in addition to wheat, dairy, eggs and nuts. Fun, huh?

Heather – Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I feel your pain. The upside I’ve learned about food allergies is that we personally lead a much healthier lifestyle. I’ve learned to look for the silver linings in our food allergy journey. :)
