You are right, I did mean to write it to Christy. That's what I get for trying to juggle computer time with toddler time. Thanks!

Ruth, it's so hard to figure out where why random rashes & irritants occur. I don't know about the child in your care but I do know that for my little MG it's been a parade of random things that can cause random rashes and irritations.
a) Perhaps someone who ate nuts then touched her.
b) People who have pets at home who are around her in her normal environment. MG doesn't have to go into a home of someone with pets to have issues with it since pet hair so easily sticks to clothes.
c) Sun rash and allergies with certain sun blocks.
d) Other environmental allegies. I know that here in Seattle this has been the worst year for those with seasonal allergies - especially grass.
I find that if MG has a skin irritant that I have to backtrack and take note of what we did. Taking notes can help you piece the puzzles together as there are so many different possibilites with each child. I always think I'll remember but if I don't write it down I too easily forget all the little details. Good luck!!

Me again, I forgot my question for you...we are looking for recommendation of potential environmental conditions to log (i.e. Time of day, location in classroom etc...). any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Can you help?
I am the director of an early care and education program. We have a little guy who has extensive food allergies which we are very diligent about (we have several levels of checks and balances before any food is placed in front of the child). We've noticed recently that the child is having more episodes of rashes and we want to document/log what is happening around the time that these rashes are occurring to help discover the triggers...we are assuming they are environmental triggers.
Thank you!
